Sunday - Monday, May 8 and 9, 2017
Phoenix to Amsterdam to St. Petersburg -- all without a hitch! Our flights were on time, bags arrived when we did, and Viking representatives were ready to meet us as we and some of our shipmates exited the baggage claim area at St. Petersburg.
After a brief coach ride, we reached the dock and boarded our ship, the Viking Akun. We had time to unpack, stow our suitcases for the next two weeks, and head for dinner.
In a short while, we'll attend (and try to stay awake for) an orientation meeting, and I expect that it won't be long after that that we'll call it a day, or a couple of days. We're ten hours ahead of the time at home and will welcome a good night's sleep before we meet St. Petersburg in the morning.
